A
Father's Guiding Provision
The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen
your frame.
Isaiah 58:11
As Mike related his story I was once
again reminded of how personal God wants to be.
“Mom wasn't one to ask for help when
financial need was present, so one day, God intervened... A friend
from church took Mom aside, handed her an envelope and said, '“I
believe God wants you to have this. Please accept it in the spirit
it's given.”'
Startled, Mom graciously accepted an
unexpected blessing of $1000.
Over the next few years, Mom drew from
the fund as needed, replenishing it when able. A few years later, she
went to our beneficiary, offering to pay back the initial gift. The
woman advised her, '“That was unto the Lord. It was a gift from
Him. Maybe He will lead you to give that money to someone else you
know is in need.”'
“Mom began to pray, and a woman in
our church came to mind. She began to pray about the best way to
approach her, wanting to support her, while also preserving the
woman's dignity.
A few days later, there was a knock at
the door... “I'm sorry to just stop by unannounced,” Ann
explained, “but I've been driving around and felt an overwhelming
need to turn into your driveway and knock on the door.”'
Ann! I've been praying for a chance to
speak with you. It appears God has provided that opportunity. Please,
come in...”

Prayer is a powerful tool, and because
we have this open-line to our Heavenly Father, He, in our time of
need, is ready to strengthen us and guide us into His perfect
provision.
Notwithstanding, God helps His children
without them asking, He would rather we enter into a conversation
with Him so He can offer guidance concerning the challenges we face.
Simply put, if we want His guidance we must initiate the
conversation.
If we will do this, and then
attentively await His answer, He will speak to us in ways we will
recognize as His guiding voice of reason. He may even send us the
answer in person...
Prayer
“Papa God, speak to my
heart, tell me what to do. Amen.”
